Christmas meeting at IPPP in Durham

Just before Christmas, Craig McNeile attended the Annual Theory Meeting and STFC Town  meeting, organized by the Institute for Particle Physics Phenomenology. This meeting comprises of  a series of plenary talks on topical topics in theoretical particle physics. It is also a way to meet researchers and colleagues from around the UK.

This year there were talks on: Heavy Flavour anomalies (where there is tantalizing evidence for the failure of the standard model of particle physics), and new measurements of the cosmological parameters from large scale of surveys of the Universe. The final physics talk was by Dr. David Newbold from Bristol University, who reviwed the latest results from the LHC and the plans for the upgrade of the LHC.
