There has been a rearrangement of some of the schools in the faculty. The school of engineering has now joined mathematics and computing to form the new School of Engineering, Computing and Mathematics.
It is the home of our engineering disciplines, computing and mathematical sciences which together provide a vibrant inter-disciplinary and collaborative environment dedicated towards producing graduates with the necessary applied knowledge and skills to meet the demands of employers today and for tomorrow.
One of the many exciting developments resulting from the new school is the construction of a new Engineering and Design Facility on campus.
We envisage the new building will open in the summer of 2022.
At the beginning of September, the ExHILP 2019 conference is being held at the University of Stanford in California. Dr. Ben King is presenting an invited talk. Dr. Thomas Heinzl is a member of the scientific advisory committee.
Dr. Anton Ilderton is visiting SLAC (Stanford Linear Accelerator Centre) in California to speak on “Nonperturbative calculations and open problems of QED in strong external fields” at the meeting “Physics Opportunities at a Lepton Collider in the Fully Nonperturbative QED Regime”
